Lucas Model 317 Cycle Carbide Lamp.
Carbide lamps produced a better light but were more difficult to control as the acetelene gas output was generated by dripping water onto calcium carbide rocks. This model is much smaller than some lamps and has the more common screw on bowl. It would be ideally suited to a smaller framed cycle. This particular model could also be found as a plain nickel plated edition. The rear lamp would be a basic burner fed by a pipe from the front lamp.
