Itera Plastic Cycle 1982
| | |
| Year of manufacture: | 1982 |
| Place of manufacture: | Sweden |
| Wheel size: | 27 x 1 1/2 inches |
| Notable features: | All plastic construction
with exception of brake levers, cables, callipers ,chain and the
lock and few small parts. Hard metal bearings. |
| Notable history: | Conceived over several
years by a group of Swedish Scientists and marketed at significant
cost as THE alternative to the metal bicycle. The tendency of the
frame to flex along with its rather radical design (for 1982) meant
that it was doomed to fail. Production started and ended in 1982 ,
few survive. |
