Annual General Meeting 2008

30 members came to our 25th AGM which was held on Sunday 16th March 2008 at the Pate and Porter Restaurant.

The President in his opening remarks thanked everyone for attending and said we had enjoyed a good 25th Anniversary year. He thanked everyone for the good response to events and hoped that we could look forward to continued support in 2008.

In the Chairman’s report he detailed the events we had attended since the Annual Dinner, which included filming for Channel Four which is to be included in a six part series starting on Tuesday 18th March. He thanked Joan Lacey for the time she has given as Treasurer over the past 14 years, as Joan has now asked to stand down. He finished by thanking the Committee members for their continued support.

In the Treasurer’s annual report she informed the meeting of the current financial situations and detailed the expenditure and income for the year. The club remains in a good position. She thanked Margaret Sparrow for auditing the accounts.

Officers and Committee were all re-elected with one change, Joan Lacey stood down as Treasurer – Colin Arnold was elected and kindly agreed to take on the Treasurers position. Joan moved to take Colin Arnold’s place as a committee member.

Forthcoming events and other club’s rallies were given for the 2008 season.

Joan Lacey Presentation At the end of the meeting a presentation was made to Joan Lacey in appreciation of all the time she has given over the past 14 years as Treasurer and also to Colin and Gail Arnold for their time producing the March Hare magazine.
